Hospital Play Worker

1. To organise and supervise play activities for individual and groups of children and young people in hospital according to their individual needs and as part of the overall plan. 2. To plan a programme of daily play activities for the playroom.
3. To establish effective communication both verbal and written with children / families and members of the multi-disciplinary team. 4. To provide play based observations to support the overall assessment of the child.
5. To ensure that up-to-date written records and activity data are maintained in accordance with Professional and Trust Standards. 6. To respect the individuality, values, cultures and religious diversity of children, carers and families and contribute to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs.
7. To review and reflect on own practice and performance through the effective use of clinical supervision and appraisal. 8. To participate in the delivery of the play service development play.
9. To comply with Trust Policies and Procedures.
