Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of our Belfast client who have an exciting opportunity to work for a friendly team in an industry leading utility company.
They are recruiting a new Assistant Transportation Analyst to join a team of people who are united in achieving company corporate objectives and who are willing to go the extra mile to help make the company a world leading energy utility.
Key Responsibilities:
To participate in a 3-year development programme specifically designed for this role that will assist with
- Development of analytic skills and techniques
- Gas industry operational knowledge
- Development of communication skills
- Improving performance in the role
- Develop a working knowledge of Network Codes and gas transportation network operations within Northern Ireland.
- Facilitate the accurate and timely delivery of information to Gas suppliers, the Utility Regulator and other gas network operators to meet Network Code and industry requirements.
- Assist the Transportation Services Manager in operational regulation.
What's in it for you?
- A competitive starting salary between £19,000 - £21,000 dependent on experience.
- A 3-year development programme with 6-month reviews and a maximum £1,000 awarded per review.
- Upon completion of the 3-year development programme, you will be eligible to participate in a performance bonus scheme which provides the opportunity to earn 6-9% on target bonus.
- You will receive 20 days annual leave plus 11 bank holidays (this increases with length of service).
- Hours of work are Monday to Friday (no contractual weekend work).
- Enrolment into the Company pension scheme on commencement and upon meeting qualifying criteria the Company will match your pension contributions up to 6%.
- Life assurance whist employed by the Company.
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in a numerate, business, or legal related discipline.
or 3 A-levels (or equivalent) along with a minimum of 1 year's experience in a relevant business environment
- Must have experience of working with Microsoft Office package, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytic and numerical skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage workload to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently with a methodical approach in a highly demanding environment
- Ability to operate in a professional and confidential manner always
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of a regulated utility industry, in particular the gas sector
- Knowledge of Network Codes
- Work experience post degree qualification in an analytic business environment
- Experience of working with and development of databases
