Support Worker

**This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible individual, to support a family to care for their 14-year-old child who has a brain injury, learning disabilities, epilepsy and autism. The primary aspect of this role will be supporting the child to access social activities after school, during the holidays and weekends, and also support her within the family home. The client is moving to her forever home and needs Support Workers to add to join her growing team. There are shifts available to support her overnight, and before and after school.**

You will be supported by a team of professionals to undertake a range of duties to support the client, you will work closely with therapists and family providing the highest standards of care and support.

It is important that you are sensitive to the needs and boundaries of the family and are able to support the child’s parent when it comes to maintaining their structure and values.

Experience of working with young people or children with additional needs is preferred however not essential, **instead a personality that matches the young persons, a willingness to learn, to play, to have fun and the ability to work flexibly are the qualities most needed**. Relevant job specific training will be provided as necessary.

The post requires that you work under the direction of the client’s parent as well as independently to a greater extent. You must work and conduct yourself in a manner that is acceptable to the employer. Reliability, integrity, and complete trustworthiness are essential attributes in this post.

Working hours are flexible, and can be full or part time and there will be more hours over the school holidays. These hours will be offered via a permanent contract, and a rota will be given well in advance. An excellent rate of pay is offered.

Example Rota:
Monday - 4pm - 10pm

Tuesday - Off

Wednesday - 4pm - 10pm then 10pm - 9am ( Sleep In with some waking duties)

Thursday - Off

Friday - Off

Saturday - 10am - 10pm

Pay: £15.00-£16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
