**Hours per week - Full time - Four days a week**

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our existing Dispensary/Reception Team providing high levels of patient care to our registered list. We are a busy practice with approx 8000 patients and dispense to approx 1000 of our patients. Rates of pay will be discussed at interview and will based on previous experience. The successful applicant will already need to hold a dispensing qualification at NVQ level 2 or equivalent.

**SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Dispensing Duties**
- Process/print authorised repeat prescriptions following practice guidelines.
- Order stock as required for dispensing patients.
- Receive and check incoming stock.
- Maintain stock control.
- Dispense and check medication as per practice standard operating procedures.
- Collect payment for prescriptions and reconcile daily receipts in accordance with practice protocol.
- Assist in the monthly collation of prescriptions for despatch to the PPA.
- Maintain Controlled Drugs records as per regulations.
- Receive and deal appropriately with returned medication.
- Maintain the dispensary in a clean and tidy manner with due care to Health and Safety.
- Work within practice guidelines in order to comply with the criteria of the Dispensary Services Quality Scheme.

**Reception Duties**
- Welcome patients at the main reception desk, assist with their enquiries or direct accordingly.
- Answer telephones - assist with enquiry or direct calls appropriately, record and pass on messages to members of the Primary Health Care Team in accordance with Practice Protocol.
- Book appointments as appropriate - via contact over the telephone or in person.
- Deal with queries according to guidelines laid down by Practice Policy.
- General administration duties as required, in order to aid the achievement of targets.
