Information Security Adviser

**The opportunity**

Your role will include:

- assisting the development of secure procurement, DevSecOps and Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDL) processes
- maintaining the operation of the ISMS, suggesting and implementing improvements to it and developing its security controls
- acting as the Information Security lead for complex projects, identifying and introducing security requirements and then ensuring solutions align with data protection policies
- identifying obsolete policies, standards and procedures, as well as developing new information security policies, standards and procedures for company-wide adoption and supporting their implementation, including education and awareness activities
- assessing and reporting third-party and supply-chain security risks
- providing informal and formal education and awareness opportunities to colleagues regarding information security policy and best practice
- identifying, assessing and reporting risks for further consideration and management, which includes management report production
- planning and delivering internal security audits
- supporting all aspects of Security Team delivery, including SecOps, Physical Security, Data Protection and Business Resilience.

**What do I need?**

To be successful you will already have significant experience working in a similar security assurance role. You will have an excellent working knowledge of security-focussed standards and frameworks, such as ISO27001, PCI-DSS and NCSC NIS Regulations.

It is desirable, but not essential, that you hold a relevant information security management qualification, such as CISSP, CISM or CRISC. Any experience working in a Critical National Infrastructure environment would be advantageous.

We are looking for you to present clear experience and understanding of operations within a risk-driven framework and you will be adept at articulating information security risk to determine priorities. You will be able to confidently explain to senior stakeholders why the maintenance of security controls is essential to support critical business functions and demonstrate practical knowledge of how to evaluate the strength and maturity of security controls with reference to business priorities.

You will be a critical thinker with good problem-solving skills and the drive and flexibility to manage a busy role, working as part of a team and often independently. You will have excellent customer service and communication skills and will be willing to guide and support other team members.
