The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire is seeking an individual in the role of Safer Streets Co-Ordinator.

The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of multiple Safer Streets initiatives across Bedfordshire and the core aspects of the role are listed below;
Assist with the writing of Home Office Safer Street fund bid

Develop a project framework to support the delivery of the primary and secondary bid initiatives

Co-ordinate the individual aspects of the project, the stages of progression, how they will be fulfilled, and requirements to meet these, including logistics, guidance and legislation.

Delivering a range of prevention and public reassurance activities in relation to the project.

Co-ordinating the procurement of a range of goods and services supporting the initiatives adhering to guidelines. Obtaining multiple quotes if required and making recommendations to the Safer Streets Project Manager as to the preferred suppliers.

Foster good working relationships with the three local authorities, police, partners, key stakeholders and Bedfordshire residents, throughout the project.

The implementation of partnership consultations, community engagements, communications, and publications.

Providing regular updates and information, reviewing analytical data, and writing evidence-based reports.

Produce research and recommendations, often within tight timescales, that utilise appropriate information sources and techniques to determine opportunities for service improvements within this area.

Regularly undertake local and national environment scanning, and proactively inform and engage with colleagues on social, legislative or economic concerns that could impact on this area

Develop and maintain an extensive network within the existing statutory and voluntary partnership network, enabling the exchange of information, and opportunities for developing shared work across organisations.

In working with commissioned services ensure that where relevant, the views of service users are taken into consideration, and where appropriate, services are co-developed.

To monitor national policy, consultation, and research with the aim of identifying potential new opportunities to enable the delivery of the Commissioner’s aspirations.

To proactively enhance relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in the community safety and criminal justice sectors to identify blockages or identify opportunities to improve the delivery of initiatives that secure improved outcomes for local people.

Providing evidence to the Safer Streets Project Manager on the project outcomes and data evidence of effectiveness including the co-ordination of a lessons learnt process.

Deputise for the Safer Streets Project Manager as required.
