Procurement Specialist

**The Opportunity**
This is an excellent opportunity for a Procurement Specialist to join a dynamic North East team in an exciting, employee-owned organisation.
You will have responsibility for procurement and day to day functions of the RDC (regional distribution centre), managing profitability and generating an excellent customer experience. You will oversee procurement with additional customer service responsibilities.
**The role of Procurement Specialist**:
**Procurement**
- Working with the external sales team to process enquiries for new and existing customers
- Ability to juggle several enquiries simultaneously with the aim to turn quotations around as quickly as possible
- Dealing with a number of suppliers to secure competitive pricing on a wide range of packaging products
- Managing stock levels and reorder points
- Taking initiative to resource existing product
- Generating, developing, and maximising supplier relationships
**Operations**
- A focus on the efficient processing of enquiries coming into the RDC.
- Driving sales internally
- Transaction management and data integrity
- Product quality
- Excellent communication within and between business functions
- Right first time approach
**RDC profitability**
- You must be proactive and drive improvements to process and efficiency
- Strong focus on operational costs and the ability to deliver value for money
- Maximising Kite’s USPs
- Driving Kite’s KPIs, such as margin expectations and inventory management
**Reporting**
- Supplier performance reviews
- Other reports as required
**Key Skills and Essential Experience**:
- Essential requirements for the role:
- Good academic record with a proven history of achieving
- Outstanding planning and organisation skills
- Ability to multi-task and keep calm under pressure
- Have a holistic approach with the ability to focus on specific detail where required
- IT confident, such as being able to learn new systems quickly
- Proficient with Microsoft Office - particularly Excel
- Be outgoing, positive and have excellent communication skills
- Passion to improve the experience of our stakeholders
- A ‘doer’ that completes tasks quickly and to a high standard
- Keen to take responsibility and be accountable
- Be able to operate from a brief; strongly self-motivated; and use initiative
- Natural team player
Must be located within 30-40 minutes of the RDC (travel time in rush-hour)
