Supporting Minds operates in the talking therapy field and offers counselling to clients in person and online, and provides training to those looking to qualify as therapeutic counsellors across the country. Supporting Minds is rapidly expanding nationwidethrough a franchise model, as well as developing and maintaining its own current training and counselling offering. The role required is diverse and varied and will grow as the business grows.

We believe in recognising and valuing the whole person and that’s why we offer direct entry to our courses,we take into consideration an individual’s self-awareness, openness to experience, previous academic study and life experience.
You will be a motivated, passionate and dedicated Counselling Tutor, able to deliver our BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, work with a range of clients and deliver mini CPD courses.
You will work 37.5 hours per week, however some of your hours are flexible. This will include one weekend a month. Main hours are between 10am - 4pm with occasional evening work between 6pm - 8pm, with no Bank holidays to work.
**Are you the right person for us?**
- Delivering the BTEC Level 5 syllabus to up to 3 groups, including weekend work. Although you won’t start with 3 groups, these will be increased over the coming months
- Assessing and marking learners work
- Offering study support across the SM network
- Speaking to new potential students about the course and interviewing
- Preparing teaching resources
- Offer group supervision via Zoom one evening a month
- Offer 1:1 supervision to SM students (not your own groups)
- Deliver mini CPD via Zoom one evening a month on topics that you’re most passionate about
- Working with a range of clients
- Attendance at monthly team meetings via Teams
- Flexible working hours to suits yours and SM’s needs
**What will your role as a Counselling Tutor look like?**
- A registered (NCS/ BACP) therapist
- 2 years post qualifying experience
- Knowledgeable on counselling theory and experiential delivery
- Experience of facilitating/ teaching groups
- Able to provide two references
- Have or be prepared to have an enhanced DBS check for adults and children
- Understand the Supporting Minds ethos
- Attend team meetings once a month on a Monday (2 hours)
- Able to use your own initiative and work autonomously
- A minimum of a PTTLS/ L3 Education and Training qualification although we can provide this to you
- Be confident in being responsible for your own teaching/ counselling space and problem solving independently
- Deal with all aspects of administration related to counselling clients
