**Job description**

A highly successful directly authorised mortgage broking group with ambitious growth plans is seeking an experienced and financial services qualified 'Compliance Manager'.

The Compliance Manager will cover the group’s four branches in various locations throughout Suffolk. We are flexible about your office base although you will be expected to conduct site visits at each branch on a monthly basis. It is expected that the timerequired to successfully fulfil the role will be circa **3 days per week**, which can be flexibly managed to suit the individual.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensure compliance with regulator compliance procedures and develop and manage the company’s own compliance procedures
- Ensure all procedures are maintained to reflect any regulatory changes
- Update any regulatory changes to the business owners and adviser team
- Assist the business owners to identify areas of risk and work with them to manage the continuous improvement of the company’s standards and associated risk ratings
- Defining and measuring adviser competency and quality
- Pre-advice and new starter supervision to Competent Adviser Status sign off
- Observations and 1-1s of Pre-Advice and new advisers
- Ensuring CRM and sales process is followed by advisers
- Assessing firm and/or adviser training and competency folders
- Conducting one-to-ones with advisers, and reviewing previous agreed action plans
- Review and monitor adviser Continuous Professional Development
- Relationship development and compliance support during training period
- Manage the suspension and termination of advisers on the new starter/pre-advice

process
- To maintain a primary point of contact for advisers and manage the training and

competence program to ensure compliance to the company’s procedures
- Instruct, coach and monitor individuals, producing reports and individual training/

development plans ensuring all outstanding actions are completed within agreed

time-scales
- Manage the recording of any findings and accurately document corrective activity
- Manage the File Review process and effectively communicate to advisers and line

managers in respect of technical queries and challenges arising from the file review

process
- Effectively manage with the leadership team any escalated issues which have

emerged as a result of file reviews
- Develop, oversee, and manage working practices to enable the business to maintain an effective compliance framework
- Liaise with the company’s external compliance support provider
- You will have a minimum proven two year’s experience in a similar role **_within the financial services sector_**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and work to tight deadlines
- Coaching and mentoring skills
- An ability to critically analyse and interpret information
- Competent in Microsoft Office
- CeMAP or equivalent
- A strong understanding of the advice market for Mortgages, General Insurance, and

protection
