**Job Description**:
We are looking for and experienced Senior Explorationist to join our Earth Data team
Reporting to the Emerging Basins and Business Development Director, you will be responsible for providing G&G support to Business Development as a technical Geoscientist, helping to ensure a pipeline of new projects is created.
As a Senior Explorationist, you will collaborate with the CGG’s Emerging Basins and Business Development team which is principally focused on identifying new 3D seismic acquisition or 3D reprocessing opportunities and other G&G projects for CCG’s Earth Data group within new geographies outside of our core areas.
**Principle Accountabilities**
- Screen the hydrocarbon prospectivity of basins globally to evaluate the sub-surface context (remaining petroleum potential, seismic imaging challenges etc )
- Assist in generating commercial projects (e.g., 3D seismic reprocessing / new acquisition) by identifying solutions for filling in the gaps in our petroleum system knowledge for these basins and communicate to stakeholders why these would be of value to IOCs
- Communicate effectively across multiple CGG business lines and a variety of external stakeholders (partners, governments, clients)
- Build/deliver/present technical marketing material to Governments, potential clients and at international conferences to support business development and marketing efforts.
- Devise and conduct G&G projects to enhance the value of our multi-client data including the carrying out of seismic interpretation, petroleum system evaluations etc. Some of these projects may develop into commercial projects.
- Oversee G&G studies carried out by internal CGG groups and external collaborators (academia and partners) on multi-client data
- Provide G&G support for business development and project promotion for all the Basins Heads globally
- For this role, you can either be based in our Llandudno office in North Wales (ideally) or in our Crawley one._

**Qualifications**:
- A minimum of an MSc in a geoscience related discipline or relevant experience is required
- Strong geological and geophysical skills and the ability to communicate these
- Demonstrate experience across a range of different geological settings and geographies and in generating play concepts / opportunities. Experience within Latin America is preferred
- Seismic interpretation software skills (Petrel, Kingdom, PaleoScan, Geoteric) desirable
- The ability to work across a number of technical disciplines, and on more than one project at a time is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work effectively across different cultures, are desirable.
- Ability to speak Spanish would be advantageous but is not essential
- Previous experience in exploration as an operator would be preferred
- Willingness to travel globally in support of government presentation, conferences etc.
