**Trading Systems Engineer, Permanent, Equities, Electronic trading, Unix, Linux**

A leading financial institution is looking for a Trading Systems Engineer who can help support their electronic trading platform.

**The role**
- Developing specialist knowledge in relevant systems and sharing that knowledge with global teams
- Liaising with Business users and Information Technology counterparts on potential process improvements
- Taking ownership of issues through to resolution or escalation
- Proactively improving the quality of systems and service, and increase business value
- Undertaking projects as required in areas such as: capacity and performance management, monitoring initiatives, infrastructure upgrades and web-based tools
- Ensuring stability, supportability and deployment efficiency is delivered by working with development leads, project managers

**Required Skills**:

- Degree in an Information Technology (IT), Engineering or Mathematics-related discipline or equivalent experience
- Exposure to Low Latency environments
- FIX messaging protocol experience crucial
- Equities & equities protocol experience required
- Accustomed with the whole software release cycle
- Backend experience with Unix/Linux
- Python scripting experience desired but not essential
