Wren Healthcare is a private healthcare organisation which is led by nurses and inspired by patients. Our working environment is inclusive, dynamic, practical and kind. Due to the expansion of our Homecare service, we are looking for field based phlebotomists to visit patients at their own home setting to carry out venepuncture.

The services provided are not limited to the patient’s home and may take place in alternative settings. The phlebotomist will always have availability to contact a Registered Nurse for advice and support should the need arise.

Some of the accountabilities for this role include:

- Being able to judge the testing requirements for each test and to be able to take blood into appropriate tubes and in the correct draw order.
- Ensuring that the sample(s) are correctly labelled and otherwise properly treated so as to be suitable for the analyses requested.
- Have knowledge of the anatomy and physiology relevant to obtaining blood by invasive procedure enabling appropriate choice of vein and needle size
- Assist referring centres, hospitals and consultants in delivering nursing interventions to patients at home
- Be able to perform venepuncture on adult patients.
- Accountable for reporting all activity risks and issues in line with Wren Healthcare policies and procedures
- Assist with ongoing education and training of patients and families
- Communicate effectively, promoting open and trusting relationships
- To communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, careers and other professionals involved in their care
- Maintain confidentiality in line with all current legislation

**This is a field-based role, so you must have your own vehicle and a Full Driving Licence**.
