**Senior Financial Accountant**

Based in Derby, Derbyshire, but hybrid with only 2 days in the office, our PE backed highly successful client is looking for a qualified accountant to join them as Senior Financial Accountant.

This job would suit an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge to be responsible for managing the monthly management & financial accounts preparation and overseeing several key projects. This is a varied role that will workclosely with the Group Financial Controller along with other senior stakeholders in the business. This would be an ideal first move into Industry for someone moving out of Practice.

This company has seen significant growth in recent years and, although the Covid years created challenges, they have weathered the storm well and have seen a strong bounce back with continued future growth in the pipeline. The business has a varied and complimentaryportfolio of products with a varied and loyal customer base so there are strong strategic plans in place to push the business forward in the coming years.

The successful individual will be a qualified ACA or ACCA accountant either with a good track record in financial accounting jobs in industry or having qualified in Practice and looking to move into a growing commercial business. You will ideally have demonstrableteam management or leadership skills, with up to date accounting technical knowledge (UK GAAP, IFRS) but most importantly you will be personable, ambitious to develop and wanting to help drive a business forward.

Job responsibilities:

- Consolidation of the group accounts, along with preparation of statutory accounts and audit lead.
- Preparation of P11d calculations and HMRC reporting for VAT, TOMS and Corporation tax.
- Work with the Financial Accountant to prepare consolidated monthly management accounts for the group and the individual entities.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliation process compiling the opportunities and risk analysis
- Delivery of the month end management accounts pack, including financial statements with insightful. Commercially focused commentary and risks & opportunities analysis.
- Draft monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the Board, banks, and other external stakeholders.
- Support / lead the development and implementation of cost centre reporting to drive senior managers' understanding of their performance vs budget / forecast and support in the control of overhead spend.
- Support the delivery of the Finance Transformation project, streamlining and automating processes (including the Purchase to Pay cycle) to materially reduce time spent on routine tasks, thereby creating more time to focus on value-creating opportunities.
- Key projects include: Cost centre reporting implementation, Virtual Stock Room - Cloud based storage for all direct costs.
