**Summary**:
This role is located within the **Finance, Planning and Governance Division** and specifically the **Risk, Assurance and Governance (RAG) function**. The function are responsible for advocating and advising the Dstl Executive on the requirements needed to maintain, develop and improve Dstl’s quality framework, ultimately supporting it’s ISO 9001 certification.

This is achieved through collaboration with the Corporate Quality Manager; leading key areas of work as outlined in ‘This role you will’ and by building and maintaining trusting working relationships with a diverse set of key stakeholders (including the wider business).

**Job description**:
**In this role you will**:

- Collaborate with the Corporate Quality Manager and Audit and Assurance Principal to develop the ISO 9001 internal audit plan using a risk based approach;
- Lead, manage, monitor and conduct internal audits to ensure successful delivery of the ISO 9001 internal audit (line 2) plan and report status of line 2 audits and audit findings accordingly (e.g. monthly assurance meeting, quarterly assurance report);
- Take appropriate corrective action where any threat to successful delivery of the ISO 9001 internal audit (line 2) plan is identified;
- Lead and manage activities required to successfully deliver Dstl’s certification body audits, ensuring that outcomes are effectively managed for closure and communicated to stakeholders and the wider business in a timely manner;
- Lead activities which support the re-tender and successful contract award of Dstl’s certification body contract;
- In support of ISO 9001 certification, lead the management review process ensuring ISO 9001 requirements are adhered to;
- Lead the initiative for aligning with the CQI annual World Quality Day initiative, and use this as a means to advocating quality virtually across the wider business.

**Responsibilities**:
**We are looking for someone who has**:

- Experience and knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 (and/or previous versions);
- Experience of supporting a Quality Manager or quality management system for longer than 3 years, including experience of auditing;
- Proven ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and who enjoys building new relationships whilst maintaining existing relationships;
- Drive and passion to identify improvements that add business benefit and efficiency;
- The ability to influence stakeholders and advocate the benefits of quality management and ‘doing things right’, whilst conveying these in a simplistic manner for the wider benefit of the business;
- Ability to communicate in a simple and succinct manner.

**Important Information**:
This role will require full UK security clearance and you should have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. For some roles Developed Vetting will also be required, in this case you should have resided in the UK for the past 10 years.

**Work location**:
Dstl is strongly encouraging blended and flexible working either at one of our sites or from home or both. We want to empower you to undertake your duties at the most appropriate location for the task, however you will be allocated a Dstl site as a base. You may be required to travel to other Dstl and MoD sites as required.
