**Senior Shift Engineer**

**Salary**: £ 50,000

Hours of work: average 42 hours a week. 12-hour shifts.

Commutable from: Bedford, Cambridge, Milton Keynes, St Neots, Luton, Huntingdon, Leighton Buzzard

**Profile**:
As the Senior Shift Engineer you will be a fully qualified multi skilled engineer, comfortable to fault find both electrically and mechanically. You will be a highly motivated proactive individual who is able to work under pressure. Influential and persuasivewith a focused, pragmatic approach to solving problems. A self-starter who can work up an Engineering plan, is able to engage with others at all levels across the site and has excellent decision making skills.

**The Role**:
The Senior Shift Engineer is responsible for undertaking maintenance, maintenance of new and existing equipment
- Effective communication
- coordinating the maintenance work across the shift, attending shift meetings and ensuring handovers etc. are completed
- Provide expert technical expertise
- Responsible for maintaining GMP standards
- To take part in continuous improvement
- You will be involve working closely with the production department
- repairs and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment, plant, and facilities to ensure the delivery of production volumes and efficiencies
- Engaging with stores coordinator to resolve spares issues and stock levels including the identification of new suppliers to reduce cost and manage obsolescence
- Completion of and updating of proactive maintenance tasks is an important aspect to this role.
- Perform planned, preventative maintenance, fault finding, repair and continuous improvement to manufacturing equipment and plant to ensure production targets can be met and line downtime is minimized.
- Ability to diagnose problems and repair machinery.
- You will be working on food process machinery and will be dealing with fault finding on various PLC's.
- This role will involve working closely with the production department to identify and resolve safety, quality, or downtime issues. Exposure to this environment would be an advantage.
- PLC knowledge is a must;
- stay up-to-date with all training requirements
- Project work including installation, commissioning, and testing of machines
