Support Workers

About the role
Huntingdon Accommodation Services, located in Huntingdon and Wyton, provides support to tenants with learning disabilities in a supported living environment.
We currently have two vacancies at our Wyton service: one for 37 hours and another for 30 hours per week.
As a Support Worker, you will be part of a dedicated team, working to empower adults with learning disabilities. Your role will involve enhancing their quality of life, maximising their potential, and promoting independence both at home and in the community. Our Wyton service offers one-to-one support, which involves lone working.
What will you be doing?
You will work alongside individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or physical disabilities, helping them lead happy and healthy lives by supporting their care and social needs. This includes providing engaging activities, assisting with care and communication needs, administering medication, and promoting overall wellbeing.
As part of a dedicated team, you will focus on achieving positive outcomes and skill development for the individuals we support within a safe and caring environment. You will report to senior support workers to ensure the service meets CQC requirements.
Both positions are part of a rolling 4-week rota, with various shifts between 08:00 - 22:00, including Bank Holidays and weekends, for which additional enhancements are paid. You will also need to be available for sleep-ins as part of these roles. **Please note: these roles are for a minimum of 30 hours per week every week.**
The starting pay for these positions is £12.85 per hour, with enhanced rates for Saturdays (£19.27), Sundays (£22.48), and Bank Holidays (£25.70).
About you
You will be a caring, passionate and motivated person keen to make a difference and provide exceptional care and support. You will be able to empower individuals and recognise that each person is unique in their needs and choices.
You will have strong verbal and written communication skills and a good level of IT ability in order to complete risk assessments and update personal records. You will have a sensitive and a professional approach in managing your work and an understanding of equal opportunities, diversity and safeguarding. The role will involve the administration of medication, and the provision of personal care.
In return for your commitment and dedication to our service users, we offer appropriate training, support, and career development opportunities as well as the opportunity to join a supportive team committed to delivering an excellent service for adults with disabilities.
**You will need to be available for an Interview that will take place on the 15th & 16th May 2025 in person.**
