**Counter Fraud Intelligence Officer**

**Location**: 128-142 High Road, Ilford, IG1 1DE
**Start Date**: ASAP
**Contract Duration**: 6+ Months
**Working Hours**: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 Hours per week
**Pay Rate**: £ 19.75 per hour

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain systems, software, and processes for data collection, collation, and analysis related to fraud.
- Manage the National Fraud Initiative (NFI) database, liaise with relevant services, and record outcomes.
- Upload data to the Fraud Hub and analyze potential matches for further investigation.
- Promote anti-fraud measures across the organization.
- Conduct routine investigations using available intelligence and evidence, presenting findings clearly to achieve successful outcomes.
- Support Corporate Fraud Investigators in investigations of fraud, corruption, and dishonesty.
- Maintain the fraud case management system and produce relevant information.
- Engage with the local community for research and intelligence gathering purposes.
- Conduct research and complete allocated project tasks to support Corporate Fraud Investigators.
- Compile and analyze data on various topics, including fraud information and trend analysis.
- Gather, record, and securely retain evidence in accordance with legislation and Codes of Practice.
- Assist in preparing case papers for submission for prosecution.
- Undertake proactive fraud detection work in high-risk areas and identify new initiatives to prevent and detect fraud.
- Liaise with other Council sections and external agencies as necessary.
- Deliver training and awareness activities as part of the fraud prevention program.
- Make decisions using initiative, sound judgment, and experience to meet team objectives.
- Maintain high standards of record-keeping and produce timely reports to the Head of Internal Audit.
- Promote the work and role of the Corporate Fraud team and Internal Audit.
- Undertake additional duties as allocated by the Fraud Manager.

**Person Specification**
- Possess an accredited counter fraud qualification.
- Awareness of fraud risk issues.
- At least 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English and Mathematics) or equivalent.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience using IT software packages.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex information.
- Capable of producing clear and concise reports.
- Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and achieve targets.
