**Cambridge Regional College**have an exciting opportunity for a Pastoral Support Advisorto join our Student Services team at our Cambridge Campus.
You will join us on a full time (37 hours), term time basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of between **£25,868 - £27,573 per annum (equivalent to a full year salary of £29,770 - £31,732 per annum), plus staff benefits.**

**About the role**:
You will be an integral part of the Student Services team, providing central support for students with EHCP high needs, and co-ordinating support across the college; ensuring a consistent approach and shared good practice across the college. You may also be seconded to a specific curriculum area.
Your primary purpose will be to support EHCP and High Needs students to become empowered so that they can fully access the curriculum and successfully achieve their programme of study through their development of greater independence, providing planned and unplanned and responsive welfare support for complex learners e.g. ASD students to ensure that they are able to overcome barriers that may impact their learning and development.
Your primary duties will include:
- Assist in identifying EHCP and High Needs students that may benefit from pastoral interventions additional to the college’s standard offer, and assess the needs of each student, signposting to alternative college intervention programmes as appropriate.
- Assist in supporting the successful transition of a caseload of EHCP and High Needs students by making direct contact with students and advocates and advertising your role and accessibility.
- Support in co-ordinating, and be responsive to, a college wide referral route to enable students to access your service.
**What we are looking for in our role**:
Due to the nature of the post, the post holder is required to hold an enhanced DBS disclosure check deemed acceptable to the College and to be re-checked every 4 years. This is something that the college will complete as part of your pre-employment checks.
You will also require:
- GCSE (Or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Recent and demonstrable experience of working with people with special education needs in a wellbeing capacity.
- Recent and demonstrable experience of working with young people and adults from a variety of age ranges within an FE setting or other institution (education, healthcare, social services).
