In this role you will support the Head of Model Shop in overseeing and taking responsibility for all aspects of the wind tunnel model preparation, and in co-ordinating model shop resource to meet the requirements of the aerodynamic testing plan.

- Production

Supporting the Head of Model shop in all daily operations in the model shop, to meet the requirements of the test schedule.

Take a hands-on role in part production.

Ensure the Team has stocks and spares available at all times.

Show a detailed understanding of the requirements of the production schedule and manage jobs effectively.

Assist in the production of all necessary parts to support the aero testing programme.

Execute day-to-day tasks as requested by the Head of Model Shop, providing a flexible approach and dedication to our continued development.
- Wind Tunnel

Oversee the WT tests to ensure efficient operation in all areas.

Oversee and participate in the build & preparation of the wind tunnel models to the highest standards.

Assisting with management of the model shop and with wind tunnel shift cover according to demand.
- Group Management

Act independently from the Head of Model Shop on assigned responsibilities and day-to-day management of group tasks.

Create and hold good communication links within the department.
- Proactivity and Innovation

Have a proactive attitude in the development of the model and all associated operations.

Identify problems & implement improvements across all assigned areas of responsibility.

To work in a professional manner at all times regardless of the task set and be pro-active in promoting a positive image for the department / team/ sponsors.

- Excellent proven Model making experience.
- Solid engineering background.
- Demonstrable organisational skills and understanding of the complexities of overseeing a wind tunnel testing programme.
- Knowledge in using computers and main software (Microsoft Office Suite).
- High attention to detail, accuracy and precision.
- Ability to scope all tasks thoroughly.
- Ability to work under time pressure.
- Good communication skills.
- Provide an enthusiastic, proactive approach to working in our busy shop.
- Initiative and innovation, with a can do attitude and desire to succeed.
- Ability to work with the team, and colleagues with a flexible approach.
- Solid and proven leadership skills and autonomy.
- Conversant with all our operating procedures and systems.
