Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: Special School in Slough

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant at our special school in Slough.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being and social development.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to create a cohesive and supportive team.
- Support students in developing coping strategies and social skills to enhance their academic and personal growth.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Relevant Teaching assistant qualifications/ experience
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs in a school setting is ideal but not essential
- Understanding of various strategies and interventions to support students with SEMH challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
