**Detention Custody Officer (DCO) - Overseas Escorting (OSE)**

Working as a DCO within our team means that you will be transporting and escorting immigration returnees within the UK and internationally. This will mean the responsibility of maintaining high standards of safety and security to those being removed from the UK, whilst promoting their welfare and decency.

In this fast-paced role you will need to have strong communication and interpersonal skills to support colleagues, work together in teams and a passion for delivering exceptional service to our returnees. No two days are the same and as you gain experience within this challenging role, we'll support you throughout your time to grow and develop.

**Salary and working hours**
- £26,150 per annum (plenty of opportunity for over time)
- Contractual hours: only 37.5 hours per week
- Full flexibility will be needed as this is a 24-hour service, 365 days a year. Our current shift pattern requires 10 days of availability which is then followed by 4 days off.

OSE DCOs are on a shift pattern of 10 days on and 4 days off. Within those 10 days on you will be expected to be ready to perform duties when requested, usually with 72 hours' notice, but this may sometimes be less than 12 hours' notice.

If you're not required to fly or undertake any other duties as scheduled by your line manager, you will be based at home.

**Training**

Once you have passed our selection and vetting process, you'll begin your Care & Custody career by completing a 6-week initial training course (ITC). Both this and continued development over the next 12 months alongside on the job mentoring and assessments, you will gain our accredited Level 3 apprenticeship in Detention and Custody which will fully equip you for this role.
