**The Role**:
**PPA** is a Performing Arts Higher Education College based in Guildford, Surrey our aim is to develop a nurturing and supportive environment in which every single student and employee is valued as an individual. Our BA Hons Degree courses in Acting for Stage and Screen, Performance in Musical Theatre and our new BA Top Up Conversion Degree are validated by De Mont Fort University. We also offer a 3 Year Diploma in Musical Theatre Course and a One Year Intensive Course in both Musical Theatre and Acting.

**Key Duties**:

- To be responsible for the maintenance of accurate administrative records for the Disability and Welfare support service in line with PPA and DMU’s University policy and the Data Protection Act.
- To ensure that Inclusive learning and support plans for students are created and shared with the relevant staff across the College to enable the institution to fulfil its legal responsibilities towards disabled students in line with the Equality Act (2010).
- To work closely with the Safeguarding Officers to ensure the College wide support is accessible to all students, ensuring confidentiality is respected at all times.
- To work alongside the Equality And Diversity Officer researching, developing and delivering strategic E+D plans, taking responsibility for key end results and ensuring that the plans support the College’s mission and vision.
- To liaise with staff across the College, medical professions and external agencies to ensure the effective implementation of support for disabled students.
- To identify and manage students who may not have but may require a formal diagnosis, ensuring they are provided with the support required.
- To work with staff across the College to promote inclusivity and to facilitate equal access to the curriculum and College facilities.
- In conjunction with relevant colleagues to plan, develop and deliver training on general disability awareness, specific disabilities and inclusive practice. To plan and manage all aspects of the theatre’s technical operation within the theatre’s technical operations budget.

**The Role**:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and creative individual who can provide strong leadership alongside excellent pastoral care. To provide and implement solutions to complex welfare challenges within the framework of relevant legislation and to ensure the provision of a high standard of advice, support and delivery across the College on the equality policies. The post holder is expected to deliver expert advice and guidance, develop and implement strategic policies, practices and action plans.

**General Duties**:

- BA Degree in a relevant field or extensive experience working in a relevant field, with SEND.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral
- At least 2 years experience of working with young adults in an educational setting
- Commitment to working with young people in the pursuit of excellence in their chosen field
- An understanding of key concerns in supporting students’ professional and academic development
- Ability both to lead and work as part of a team using initiative to manage workload and meet agreed deadlines
- Proven organisational, administrative and IT skills, including the use of relevant software to further learning practical familiarity with the demands of the university sector and relevant statutory bodies, specifically Quality Assurance Management
