Commercial Underwriter

Join the AXA Commercial team at our Leeds and Newcastle branch during an exciting period of growth aligned with our strategic business objectives.

We’re currently seeking to expand our team and are seeking a new business underwriter to establish a strong foundation and influence the future direction of our branch, providing AXA with increased visibility and opportunities.

You'll have numerous chances to contribute to the branch's development and success, while delivering exceptional service to our customers. Our team works closely together internally and actively engages with brokers and business developers to build valuable relationships and drive our collective growth.

**What you’ll be doing**:
As a New Business P&C Commercial Underwriter you’ll help drive and transform how we partner our brokers through responsive, flexible, and collaborative relationships. With a balance of technical and trading capability, you’ll be empowered to make decisions, supported by data, insight, and decision support tools. You’ll be focused on developing and delivering profitable growth, across new business within the key markets.
- Underwrite Property & Casualty business profitably in line with established underwriting practices, using the full range of tools available.
- Build a reputation as a trading expert with a panel of intermediaries and build confidence in the branch ability through interaction with our Underwriting Technical Centre.

You'll work at least 60% of your week away from home, either at our office location in Leeds and Newcastle, visiting clients or attending industry events.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
