**Role Summary**:
Responsible for supporting the cell's output through the efficient and effective operation of various assembly and testing techniques. Part of a multidisciplinary team, achieving performance measures, continuous improvement and first-line maintenance objectives.

**Job Core Responsibilities**:

- To assemble and test all parts that make up the Braking System from simple sub-assemblies to complex hydraulic control units.
- To maintain component traceability of all parts throughout the manufacturing assembly process.
- Attend and contribute to Daily Layered Accountability meetings.
- To assess repair retest and or modify production returns.
- To be responsible for the inspection and associated paperwork that support the manufacturing documentation required for that product.
- Ability to work within and contribute to a team-type approach of working and participate in the continual improvement process essential for the ongoing development of the cell.

**Skills, Knowledge and Abilities**:

- Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
- Computer skills need to be of a good standard (excel, power-point, word)
- Knowledge of using the following equipment is desirable: Linear and pressure transducers, load cells, flow meters, multi-meters, dielectric testing, bonding meters, power packs, hydraulic pressure rigs etc.
- An understanding of torque values and or equipment.
- Basic soldering skills are desirable.
- The ability to use basic inspection equipment is essential.
- An engineering apprenticeship - City and Guilds in Engineering and operational experience working in an assembly environment desirable, although Meggitt will give training.
- Basic assembly skills are essential for fitting thread inserts and lee pin plugs.
