This position is a critical appointment in developing the planning capability of the Edinburgh office, based in the city centre covering projects across Scotland. The company is therefore seeking a dynamic and capable individual with strong professional and commercial skills.
The Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Planning Consultant to join our team at Cundall’s Office in Edinburgh to work on exciting building design and mixed-use regeneration projects. You will also have an opportunity to develop new professional services in response to National Planning Framework 4; Regional Spatial Strategies and Local Place Plans.
As part of our existing planning team, and working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will conduct research on planning and environmental issues, prepare project reports including planning statements, design briefs, heritage statements and contribute to environmental impact assessments).
The Skills:
Holding a degree in Town Planning or an equivalent relevant professional qualification you should have a minimum of 3 years experience including relevant private sector practice. We require a professional with excellent communication skills, research expertise, assessment and evaluation skills together with the ability to write high quality client reports.
Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential. This experience should include community and key stakeholder negotiations in order to broker practical and acceptable outcomes.
