The Aspire Training Team are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable and enthusiastic individual to join Kid’s Love Nature’s Marwell Zoo setting as a Level 2 or Level 3 Apprentice depending upon experience. The setting is located within the grounds of Marwell Zoo, overlooking the penguin and giraffe enclosures, and benefits from working alongside Marwell Zoo’s Education Team, who provide twice daily Mini Zoologists Explorer Sessions all around the nursery, in addition to sessions in Marwell Zoo’s learning centre. The setting looks after children from ages 9 months to 5 year old, and benefits from a large one and a half acre secure outdoor play area, large vegetable garden, a supersized sand pit, dens, climbing equipment, and access to a private woodland. The setting also benefits from having large class rooms, a nature room, sleep room, music room and children’s kitchens and lots of outdoor space. This is an exciting opportunity to complete a Level 2 or potentially Level 3 Childcare apprenticeship within a friendly team in a fantastic setting. **Duties & Responsibilities**: - Ensuring that safeguarding and health and safety procedures are being followed at all times - Treating each child as a unique individual - Supporting new children in settling into the environment as appropriate - Carrying out observation, assessment and planning for own key children (in own time), and all the children in the nursery, including statutory assessment requirements and the completion of child profile books neatly, accurately and regularly. - Planning and presenting activities to the children, based on their interests and developmental needs, following advice and guidance from colleagues and the nursery management team - Supporting children to find and engage in constructive activity - Changing nappies and clothing as needed, and assisting with toilet learning as appropriate - Contributing to the completion of records such as accident, incident and medical forms as well as sleep and nappy charts, if used - Discussing any concerns about a child’s welfare or development with the nursery management As the role of an Early Years Apprentice you will be required to meet and achieve the below expectations as standard; Developing and maintaining the Considered Space. - Supporting and nurturing the Considered Child - Becoming a considered adult within and part of the prepared environment. - Attending training in line with your Apprenticeship training - Meeting the statutory requirements and the expectations of the Company as laid out in the relevant documentation. You ideally will have GCSE Grades A*-C in English Language & Maths, or equivalent i.e. functional skills; however please note that in the event you would like to progress onto an Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship you must have grades A*-C in GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths upon completion of the Level 3.
