A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a CCTV Control Room Operator, who will demonstrate and deliver high quality guarding and customer service to both our clients and service users. To ensure the safety and security of people and property within public areas and other facilities via surveillance of the CCTV network.

The Control Room Operatives role is one of the most important in the entire campus, the control room is the hub of the campus where alarms, CCTV and calls are received and managed. The controller is responsible for being the eyes of the campus and providing guidance and direction to all of the security team.

**Job Requirements**:

- SIA CCTV Licence required
- SIA Door Supervisor licence would be a bonus
- CCTV Security Experience is required - At least a year
- Strong IT ability - including Excel, Word, Outlook
- Excellent communication both written & verbal
- Good knowledge of local area
- Excellent levels of customer service at all times
- The ability to be pro-active and think on your feet use initiative
- To have a smart appearance befitting the company
- Must be able to remain calm & Professional under pressure and lead the by example

**Job Role**:

- The post holder must, at all times, carry out their duties and responsibilities to comply with policies/procedures
- Monitor and operate the CCTV cameras and associated equipment in the CCTV Control Room. Follow protocols for maintain the security of the CCTV Control Room and its facilities.
- Proactively monitoring the campuses’ Access Control and CCTV systems.
- Reactively respond to requests of CCTV monitoring, health, safety & welfare of security officers.
- Reporting and monitoring incidents in and around the campuses whilst maintaining contact with Security Officers patrolling the campuses.
- Ensuring the security and safety of the campus through the monitoring of the Access Control, CCTV and Fire Alarm systems.
- Immediate reporting of faults with the Access Control, CCTV or Fire Alarm Systems.
- Communicate to management any incidents that occur on, or may affect the LSBU Campuses, news events that affect LSBU Campuses.
- Must monitor any serious incident tracking and management.
- Monitor Officer Misconduct.
- Provide effective and accurate fault reporting.
- Ensure all incidents are logged and recorded effectively through to completion.
- Report any irregularities within the officer rotation on the campus to the Security Team Leader.
- Maintain the standards of the control room for access/ egress and visitor regulation.
- Effectively handle all incoming telephone traffic into the Security Control Room, and relay information accurately as required.
- Monitor and allocate officer attendance to intruder alarm activation's in conjunction with the Security Team Leader.
- Support officer attendance to fire alarm activation's by effectively relaying information from the Control Room if required by the Security Team Leader.
- Effectively manage the issuance of keys from the Security Control Room if required by the Security Office.
- Complete audit checks as required.
- Must complete any other task directed by senior management that is deemed a reasonable request.
- Post holder to comply with the University’s Data Protection Policy and the Data Protection Act 1998 at all times when accessing, processing personal data.
- Post holder to adhere to data quality and generate data that is accurate, valid, reliable, timely, relevant and complete.
- Participate in team briefings, operator working groups and the Employee Development and Performance Management Schemes to work more closely with management and other agencies in the development and administration of the service
- At all times the post holder must maintain and respect the security and sensitivity of the service. Comply with the adopted Code of Practice and service operational procedures at times, breaches of which will result in disciplinary action being taken.
- To understand and comply with the requirements of legislation that govern CCTV operations in order to maintain the security and integrity to the CIS Security’s CCTV policy.
- Write reports for CIS Management Team of all issues faced on shift.
- Operationally assist and support the Security Team as required - Organise Security to attend to alarm activations and incidents on shift.
- Ensure a thorough handover is conducted with the Controllers of the previous shift.
