We are looking for a Senior Policy Officer to join our Policy and Public Affairs team on a maternity cover contract to lead on the development of policy and influence decision makers to make positive change for people affected by respiratory disease.

Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.

Reporting to the Policy Manager, you will carry out proactive policy and influencing work across a range of health policy areas, which may include diagnosis, NHS services, treatment and care for lung conditions. You will research and draft policy positions using robust research, patient experience, clear analysis and strong arguments to develop and support our influencing work.

You will have experience of developing robust policy positions and campaigning for policy change. You will be able to communicate complex issues to different audiences and work collaboratively with a range of teams and external stakeholders.
