**Bookeeper**

The 79th Group are a family-owned asset management company with an entrepreneurial spirit, based in the UK but with global reach and partners and investors in most countries.

The role will be Bookkeeper assisting the Finance Team and wider team when necessary.

**Key Responsibilities**

The bookkeeper will be responsible for several duties relating to the recording of financial records, which may include:
Processing payments, purchases, invoices, income and receipts into the accounting software (Xero).
- Identifying and requesting any missing invoices.
- Maintaining, verifying and posting transactions.
- Reconciling transactions in multi-currency
- Understanding of intercompany transactions and reconciling daily.
- Balancing Intercompany Loan accounts on a monthly basis.
- Reporting any inconsistencies to the accountant, to rectify any inaccuracies.
- Assistance with budgeting, adding approved budgets into the accounting software, and highlighting any discrepancies.
- Providing reports (including Budget vs actual analysis) to the Accountant on various projects.
- Working closely with the accountant in preparing VAT returns.
- Assistance with the preparation of Financial Statements.
- Helping the finance team with administration and any other ad hoc duties.
- **Person Specification**:

- Previous bookkeeping experience essential
- Strong attention to detail to recognise errors and enter correct data into the accountancy software.
- Proficient with accountancy software such as Xero.
- Competent using Microsoft Office
- Multi-tasking skills - ability to manage and prioritise different financial duties in order to meet deadlines, and provide readily available up to date information.
- Communication skills, including the ability to highlight and explain potential issues to the accountant.
- Ability to handle multi-currency and Intercompany transactions
- Excellent organisational skills

**Experience**
- Accounting/bookkeeping - 3 years (preferred)

**Desirable skills**
- Experience of Sage & Sage Payroll
- Experience of budgets
- Experience of Xero
