Freelance Event Planner

We are seeking a Freelance Event Planner to manage all aspects of the event planning process for our event and wedding venue. You'll work closely with the owners and our clients to ensure their events and weddings are executed flawlessly.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Client Consultation: Meet with clients to discuss their wedding or event vision, preferences, and requirements. Offer guidance and expertise to help them make informed decisions regarding the event.
2. Planning: Work with clients to plan and design their events, including the planning of the day, menu and catering suppliers and entertainment. Also coordinating with vendors to ensure the smooth execution of all aspects of the event.
3. Budget Management: Assist clients in developing a budget for the event and ensure that all expenses are tracked and managed effectively. Provide cost estimates for various services and recommend cost-saving strategies without compromising the quality and elegance of the wedding.
4. Timeline and Logistics: Create a detailed timeline for the event, outlining all activities. Coordinate logistics, such as transportation, parking, and recommendations for accommodation for out-of-town guests.
5. Supplier Management: Source, negotiate with, and coordinate suppliers to ensure they deliver exceptional services and products. Manage contracts, payments, and communication with suppliers before, during, and after the event.
6. Problem-Solving: Anticipate and proactively address any challenges or issues during the planning and execution process. Remain calm under pressure and find effective solutions to ensure a seamless and memorable wedding experience.
7. On-Site Event Coordination: Oversee the event on the day itself, ensuring that all aspects of the plan are executed flawlessly. Coordinate with the venue staff, vendors, and clients to ensure the event runs smoothly and according to the agreed-upon timeline.
**Requirements**:
1. Proven Experience: Prior experience in event planning, particularly weddings or similar high-end events, is essential. A portfolio showcasing successful events planned and executed will be highly desirable.
2. Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities are necessary to simultaneously handle multiple tasks, vendors, and client requests while meeting deadlines.
3. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effectively liaising with clients, suppliers, and venue staff. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to build rapport, negotiate contracts, and maintain professional relationships.
4. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is crucial to ensure that every aspect of the event, from decorations to catering, is as the client envisioned.
5. Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrated ability to think on your feet and solve problems quickly and effectively in high-pressure situations.
6. Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate client schedules and event requirements.
7. Professionalism: Always maintaining a professional and polished demeanour, representing the venue, and providing exceptional client service.

The Salary will be determined by the number of years of practical work and experience.
