Prospero Health and Social Care are searching for a Deputy Manager for a 4-bedded home caring for girls with SEMH needs in Wilmslow, Cheshire. The role will be to assist and deputise for the Registered Manager to create a safe and nurturing environment forthe young people that live in the home.
We are looking for someone that has experience managing a team of staff in a residential home for children, or with a background in supporting individuals with complex mental health needs. This is for a new company looking to build excellent children's homesacross the north west. For the Deputy Manager position, we are looking to pay a generous basic salary of £26,000 with an additional sleep-in rate.
**Requirements**:
- Experience within a Children's Residential home (3 years+)
- A QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People or an equivalent qualification. (required)
- Management experience either as a Deputy Manager or as a Team Leader in the care sector (Mental Health, Supported Living, Children's Residential)
- A resilient and conscientious personality
**Responsibilities**:
- Reporting to the Registered Manager ensuring that the standards of the home meet OFSTED guidelines.
- Demonstrate Leadership and management experience needed to delegate effectively
- Ensuring the motivation and morale of the children and staff team
- Building links to the community working with schools, social workers and the community at large
- Have a role in the recruitment process including sitting in on interviews
- To ensure that Health and Safety policies/ legislation is consistently followed, risk assessments are regularly and promptly updated and ensure the service is safe, compliant and effective
- Be responsible for the service when the Registered Manager is absent
**Shift Pattern**
As this is a new home and the number of staff will be increasing during the first months of the home, there will be a shift schedule with 12 hour shifts and sleeps until there is room on the rota for the Deputy to work within office hours.
**Package**:
We are looking to offer a competitive salary of £36,000 with potential for progression and an additional sleep-in rate.
