Due to continued an expansion across the business, my client a market leading manufacturer is seeking to enhance its team on site with the appointment of a HSE Officer into the business.
Role Description
- Provide expert support and guidance in all matters related to Health, Safety and Environment
- Provide support and guidance in legislative compliance
- Provide HSE leadership, guidance and oversight for all operational activities
- Support the review and revision of HSE procedures and work practices
- Provide input to high risk contractor management
- Support the development of the site local audit plans
- Support regulatory interfaces local authorities and emergency services
- Participate in incident investigation and risk management
- Management of COSHH register
- Site Focal point for Occupational Health
- Participate in workplace activities to raise the quality of HSE input, including workplace risk assessments, incident investigation and risk management
- Carry out regular site inspections to ensure working practices, policies and procedures are complied with.
- Record inspection findings and produce improvement suggestion reports.
- Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain knowledge of HSE legislation and any developments
- Support the delivery of relevant HSE training
- Host monthly EHS meeting and update minutes
- Deliver new starter EHS inductions
Skills and Qualifications
- 2 years' hands-on experience in an HSE role
- Experience of managing HSE systems
- NEBOSH General Certificate in HSE
- Trained in Health & Safety management methods
- Used to working to tight budgets and time constraints
