Peterborough Limited are recruiting for permanent **Library Assistants** to work in Peterborough across any of the following hours:
**37 hours per week **based on a fortnightly rota

**21 hours per week **based on a fortnightly rota

**26 hours per week **based on a fortnightly rota

We are looking for new Library Assistants to assist in the day-to-day operation and delivery of library services providing high quality customer service to all service users.

Based in Peterborough, these are **full time and** **part time, permanent roles**. In addition to a salary of **£10.42 per hour**, we also offer an attractive benefits package including company sick pay, pension scheme, holidays, discounted gym membership and life assurance scheme.

**What does the role involve?**
- To welcome and greet members of the public and to actively promote the library service including self-service technology and electronic resources
- To lend items to customers and maintain customer records
- To assist in creating a customer-friendly and easy-to-use library environment including shelving and shelf tidying
- To assist users to find the most suitable resources and information for their learning needs including referring them to external organisations
- To assist library users in the use of ICT based services
- To assist or deliver sessions with visiting groups, class visits and events as required and to deliver under 5’s story time and rhyme time sessions
- To assist in the promotion of reading including creating displays
- To work effectively within teams and take responsibility for continuously trying to improve the overall performance and to achieve service goals within the ‘Cultural’ service

**What are we looking for?**
- 4 GCSE’s including English and Maths at grade B or above or equivalent
- Ability to achieve a Library prescribed ICT course to the required level
- Working in libraries/heritage or in a customer related environment
- Working as part of a team
- Addressing challenging situations in an appropriate manner
- Using Microsoft Office and Internet

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 21 - 37 per week

**Salary**: From £10.42 per hour
