Could you be the right person to fill one of our positions? **Main Responsibilities**: - Provides manufacturing decision making information e.g. calculating production/material costs or supporting make or buy decisions - Design CNC programs using CADCAM (Alphacam) - Lead operations improvement activities and identify and implement best practise manufacturing methods improving quality and productivity and reducing waste/cost - Provide production engineering support and expertise to operations staff - Evaluate and recommend new methods, design changes, tooling and fixtures to reduce manufacturing and assembly time - Product cost reduction with process capability - Train and support operations staff providing expertise and create training manuals and work instructions as required **In order to be successful in this role it is essential that you have**: - Exposure to low volume and batch production environments - Knowledge of engineering components (BOMs, Ops and Routings) - CNC programming & editing either on the machine or via CADCAM (AlphaCAM) - Determined, with a high level of initiative and energy - Excellent communication skills **It would be great if you had**: - Experience of a manufacturing environment (machining) - Knowledge of welding techniques - Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt - Knowledge of ISO9001 and process control methods **Desirable Qualifications**: - Qualified to Degree level in Manufacturing/Production engineering **We require all employees to have the following personal qualities/attributes**: - High levels of motivation - Capable of working well in a team environment - Good at listening to and following instructions - Ability to work on own initiative - A positive attitude, co-operative, following company policies and procedures and work constructively with colleagues **This could be the opportunity for you** **What Vacgen offers**: We offer 25 days holiday, company pension, life insurance, flexible working hours with a 1200hrs finish on a Friday, a state of the art working environment, a great benefits package and a competitive salary.
