A part-time (30 hours) Support Time Recovery Worker post has arisen within the Beverley Community Mental Health Team. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic; motivated, and can play a significant part supporting people to achieve their personal goals and work towards recovery.

You will work as part of an experienced MDT, providing support and interventions for Adults accessing secondary mental health services.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the team as a Support Time and Recovery (STR) Worker. The team covers the Beverley area in the East Riding of Yorkshire. We are a supportive, dynamic and integrated team which, although busy, has many rewards. We care deeply about our the people that access the team, their families and carers. We believe in listening and responding as a team, piloting new models, supporting each other and developing and using new care approaches. We aim to improve patient care provided as well increase staff satisfaction and sense of achievement.

As a Support Worker you will be instrumental in our services and deliver recovery focused interventions (emotional and practical support) to service users in their own place of residence under the guidance and support of qualified mental health Clinicians and Team Leaders. You will need to be a dedicated, patient focused and highly motivated individual, who has some experience of mental health and support work working effectively as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team.

After the Care Co-ordinator initially completes a comprehensive Assessment, service users are offered a comprehensive menu of support and interventions: Activities,Health & Lifestyle support, Education and employment support, Family interventions, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Medication.

The team are working towards the implementation of national standards and targets to achieve accreditation and to ensure we deliver high quality NICE concordant packages of care. We are looking to recruit an individual who shares the philosophy of supporting people to identify and work towards their personal goals, optimise personal strengths and utilise recovery models. The role will support the care co-ordinators with a range of individual and group interventions.

As well as people skills; a creative approach is essential at times to overcome traditional barriers. Whilst working independently you will also need to be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
