Due to the development and expansion of our services to provide a 7 day service, we wish to recruit enthusiastic and motivated individuals to our Radiology Admin Team.

The Radiology Department has a well established Medical Secretary Team, with a wealth of organisational knowledge. Radiology Admin are committed to continuous, high quality support for the Diagnostic Imaging department, and we are very pleased to be able to offer an apprentice position within our Medical Secretarial team.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional with strong interpersonal skills to further develop their experience within the NHS. The post holder will need to have excellent organisational and communication skills to ensure they can work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team to ensure Radiology continues to provide a high quality service to all its users.

A flexible and forward thinking approach is needed to ensure Radiology meets the challenges of the constantly developing healthcare environment, with a focus on 7 day working.

Informal enquires welcomed by Tilly Leckenby, Radiology Administration and Waiting List Manager on 0191 445 3430.

The post holder will work as part of a team whose key objectives will be to provide a comprehensive secretarial service and also a range of extended associated duties to the Consultant cohort, Clinical Director and Service manager. The post holder will be expected to use a significant amount of initiative in the discharge of all duties attached to the post, without day-to-day supervision from the Admin and Clerical Manager.

The successful post holder will be trained in all areas and tasks of the Medical Secretarial role, and will be partnered with an experienced member of the team throughout their 18 month course.

Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.

Established in 2005, we were one of the first foundation trusts in the country and since then have consistently achieved the highest levels of care for patients.

We now employ around 4,800 staff and currently provide 444 hospital beds across the Gateshead region.

Our values should be the ‘golden thread’ which runs through everything we do - they are the core of who we are. Our five values can easily be remembered by the simple acronym ICORE; Innovation, Care, Openness, Respect, Engagement.

We have a number of staff networks including the BAME network, D-Ability network, LGBTQ+ Network and the Women’s Network, to challenge us and help us to constantly improve. Our armed forces network is one of our emerging networks.
