**Hybrid Working (2 Days Office/3 Days Home)**
Gerrard White are working with a leading Occupation Health provider who due to significant growth are looking to expand their team, and are looking for a Data Engineer to own & manage our growing portfolio of data infrastructure.
Working as part of the Development and Operations teams you will be responsible for a growing range of data services, from Customer Facing Line of Business data stores to MI / Reporting systems and integrations with third parties.
**Duties and key responsibilities**:

- Technical authority for the data platform and services
- Review proposed change documentation to provide timely and meaningful feedback and estimates.
- Create detailed, comprehensive, design specifications and implementation plans
- Support release planning by providing estimates, priorities, and impact assessments.
- Work to support the existing teams - Development / QA / Operations / MI with BAU queries and planned development
- Develop appropriate governance frameworks and processes
- Stay up to date with new technologies
- Participate in Change management processes
- Provide cost management reports and recommendations
**Qualifications and essential skills required**:

- Demonstrable experience of developing and managing Azure Data Services, including
- Azure SQL Servers and databases
- Data Factories & Pipelines (ETL / Transformations)
- Power BI management & report creation
- Automation & monitoring
- Diverse data storage, including Blob, Table storage & CosmosDB
- Good understanding of Data Warehouse principles
- Strong T-SQL skills
- Demonstrable experience of diagnosing & correcting poor query performance
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Experience of BCP / DR / Risk Management and planning
**Desirable skills**:

- Experience with Python or other data processing languages
- Experience of data classification tools and systems
- Relevant Data Certifications (For example Azure Data Engineer)
- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics
- Experience with Azure Databricks
- An understanding of Azure ML
- Experience of Office365, SharePoint, Forms integration
- Experience with performance and security testing
- Experience of managing sensitive data
- Experience of working in an ISO27001 Information Security Management System environment.
