**About the role**

Working in a psychologically informed way, to provide housing advocacy, accommodation and tenancy support solutions for clients based in temporary accommodation in Newman Street. To ensure that clients are linked in with specialist services for their drug, alcohol support needs and their physical and mental health. To work closely with teams across the borough of Westminster and within The Passage as appropriate.

**Main duties**
- Welcome and triage first time visitors to the drop-in and to assist established clients with tasks or to receive support from their assigned worker.
- To assist the Specialist Project Worker with case-working tasks and to undertake 1-1 work with clients.
- To lead regular activity sessions including vocational training, daily living skills as well as recreational and leisure activities.
- Maintain positive and effective working relationships with other Passage services, stakeholders within the local authority and non-governmental organisations, and assisting clients to access health and welfare to ensure a seamless service is provided to them.
- Be responsible for developing and implementing a range of group activities and initiatives including resident forums, life skills education, pre-tenancy workshops and leisure & free time activities.

**Desired experience**
- Experience of delivering support services to socially excluded clients in an accommodation project or similar setting, either in a voluntary or paid capacity.
- Experience of working within a team and achieving strong and effective relationships with others in order to achieve organisational aims and objectives.
- Experience of effective engagement and relationship building with clients and ensuring suitable psychologically informed interventions are in place to ensure client’s needs are identified and met.
- Experience of using a variety of engagement skills with clients.
- Experience of delivering group work and activities.

**Desired knowledge**
- Knowledge of homelessness, understanding of the varied needs of homeless people and those at acute risk of homelessness.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety, and the implications of this in the working environment.
- Knowledge of requirements of Supporting People and psychologically informed ways of working within a residential setting.
- An understanding and experience of working with people from different cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: £31,303.00 per year
