Transport Controller

An opportunity has arisen for a **Transport Controller **to join our Transport team, based in Newbridge. This is a full-time, permanent role covering Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.
Reporting to the Transport Manager, this role will be responsible for ensuring the effective use of vehicles, facilities and drivers to maximise productivity and deliver the highest level of customer service. The successful applicant will be computer literate have a geographical knowledge and be keen to learn.
**Key Roles and Responsibilities will include**:
- Planning and confirming daily routes.
- Ensure driver/vehicle availability and coverage in line with legislation and company procedures to ensure that there is always suitable coverage for all rounds
- Liaising with drivers to ensure a high level of customer service and efficiency are reached and maintained.
- Liaising with external contractors to secure additional operatives if required.
- Understanding and assisting of other Traffic Controllers’ roles and providing cover when required.
- Logging and maintaining customer database on company CRM system.
- Ensuring all Health and Safety obligations are met, and company policies adhered to.

- Excellent administration and organisational abilities
- Strong IT literacy skills and a good understanding of all Microsoft Office systems
- Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment
- A polite and conscientious telephone manner
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Good geographical knowledge of the local region.
**Experience and Qualifications**:
- Previous experience of working in a similar role within a Transport environment is essential
**Pay and Benefits**:
- Earn up to £27,000 per annum
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 8am
- 5pm
- 26 days and 4 statutory days holiday
