At Waterstones, ‘Related Product’ refers to any product that isn’t a book and encompasses the following categories: Greetings Cards, Calendars & Diaries, Children's products, Stationery, Games & Puzzles, Gift and Book Accessories.

Our RP buying team are fundamental to the success of Waterstones, their focus is to identify and create distinctive, credible ranges within these categories. The success of our RP sales is driven by a well curated product offer that enhances the bookshop environment, books have to remain at the core of what we do and anything we add on top has to be retailed intelligently and sympathetically, to create more interesting place for our customers to spend time and enrich their shopping experience with us.

To support this approach, we are looking for a Related Product - Planning & Allocations Coordinator. Your role will be working closely with the RP buying team to support and improve the Related Product offer in-store and online. Support the Planning & Allocations manager in continuity stock planning and allocation to reduce risk and improve availability through effective analysis and forecasting.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Planning & Forecasting**
- Support with continuity ISBN planning, pre-season and in-season product analysis to improve forecast accuracy.
- Support with preparation for weekly planning calls.
- Support with producing weekly forecasts on Inbound and Outbound volumes of RP for the Hub and Waterstones Finance teams; coordinate Inbound deliveries with the WS Hub Supply Chain team
- Work closely with the Buying team to develop continuity product forecasts for SS and AW seasons were needed for sign-off with HO RP to placing with suppliers/factories.
- Implement agreed on processes to improve the forecasting and planning process.

**Tracking & Analysing**

Generate promotions trackers for seasonal promotions.
- Generate Best and Worst Selling trackers.
- Analyse historical data and current trends on continuity ISBNs and work closely with the Planning & Allocations Manager to identify risks and opportunities for the business and recommend strategies to achieve financial goals.
- Generate data/reporting for buying team to improve RP range planning
- Generate performance data on new shops after opening and suggest improvements to the assortment, stock levels to maximise sales.
- Work closely with the Planning & Allocations Manager and Buying team to produce and analyse sales performance, profitability, consumer buying patterns, market trends and competitor activity to identify areas of opportunity and risk.

**Allocation & Stock Management.**
- Support with managing stock levels in HUB and Stores by suggesting changes to ranging, adjusting K’s and stock allocations to ensure stock holding is optimal for driving sales growth and minimise financial business risks during the year.
- Work with the WS Hub Supply Team and suppliers to resolve problems caused by poor supplier compliance and to eliminate reoccurrence of problems.
- Work with Unipart teams to reduce aged deliveries and goods in backlogs.
- Support the management of internet stockholding for RP
- Support RP replenishment to improve shop availability and flow of stock out of the hub with a focus on seasonal ranges.
- Allocation of stock via peak push sheets to increase RP outbound during peak season.
- Support by clearly communicate purchase orders requirements to 3rd party suppliers and follow through to ensure they are fulfilled on time.
- Support with the implementation of promotional & SALE activity, communicating with all relevant departments.

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Working knowledge of Phoenix and other shop-based Waterstones systems.
- Knowledge of retail trends.
- Proven record of stock management within a budget
- Able to work with and analyse large amounts of data.
- Helpful if you have familiarity with SAP or Atlas.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel or Access.
- Good product knowledge across Related Products and Books.
- A good understanding of the Supply Chain for books and RP.
- Advantageous if you have a working knowledge of Hub processes and systems.
- Good understanding of how RP is merchandised in stores.

Good understanding of how stores manage and process stock.
