JOB TITLE: Legal Counsel
PQE REQUIRED: 4+
LOCATION: Oxfordshire (Hybrid)
THE ROLE: Our client works with donor organisations (which have included UNICEF and the World Bank), governments and NGOs focusing on areas such as economic development, health, education, climate change and social welfare, with a strong focus on research.
Following an internal promotion, they looking to recruit a Legal Counsel to work directly with the Head of Legal and the wider Legal & Compliance team to advise the business on a wide range of legal and commercial matters including, but not limited to:
- To Review and negotiate contracts, partnership, other legal documents and assist other functions with procurement on acceptable terms;
- Advise on and assist with drafting policies and processes to streamline interactions between the Legal team and other internal teams and processes;
- Support the Head of Legal with compliant establishment of new country offices and with support for the organisation and its subsidiaries in UK and internationally;
- Advise and support with other legal issues as they arise and provide business-focused solutions and support.
THE CANDIDATE: The successful Legal Counsel will be a qualified Solicitor / Barrister have at least 4 years’ PQE in Commercial / Contract law. You will be capable of dealing with a consistently high volume of varied work and be comfortable working at pace,sometimes towards critical timeframes. You will have a clear understanding of company structures and the associated legal and procedural requirements, as well as a good understanding of the practice and theory of legal contracts and associated contractualdocuments is essential.
