**Are you looking for a new challenge working Casualty Law?**

**We are looking for a qualified Lawyer (0-3 yrs PQE) to join our newly established casualty team based in Leeds here at Markel Law**

Our Casualty Team acts for Markel (UK) Ltd, its insureds and also private clients, defending pre and post-litigated employer's liability and public liability injury claims. Instructions cover the full spectrum of personal injury civil litigation, from complexand high value multi-track claims, to simple small and fast track matters.

Our sector focus is health and social care, and the construction industry and the types of claims we receive instructions on include brain injury and catastrophic loss, assaults, ECHR breaches, fatalities, animal act cases, occupational disease, multi-partyconstruction site claims, chronic pain cases, trips and slips, manual handling matters, housing disrepair and occupiers liability claims.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Dealing with employers liability and public liability injury claims
- Manage your own busy case load - including recommending reserves and setting strategies
- Deliver billing and other key performance indicators
- Ideally be able to establish, develop and maintain corporate and individual client relationships - both internally and externally
- Be able to supervise paralegals on some smaller files and delegate tasks to junior colleagues / administrative support staff where necessary and appropriate
- Provide both legal advice representing businesses and individuals in an insured and uninsured capacity
- Be able to consider and advise upon insurance policy coverage issues where necessary

**What we're looking for**:

- 0-3+ years' UK Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or F.CILEx with relevant experience
- Demonstrate first class client care and communication skills across all levels
- Have experience in handing employer's liability and public liability injury claims
- Ability to prioritise
- Have high attention to detail and accurate case management skills. Excellent written communication skills
- Effective team player, demonstrate positive and co-operative interaction with team members
- Experience in using case management systems, Partner 6 Windows would be beneficial.
- Strong IT skills generally and able to adapt to new systems quickly and effectively
