We are seeking a friendly and organised **Receptionist** to be the first point of contact for our visitors, students and parents. This is a part-time job share position.

Previous experience of a school environment would be ideal but not essential.

**Job Purpose**

To co-manage the school Reception ensuring an excellent level of customer service is provided to students, parents and visitors.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- The smooth day to day running of the Reception providing excellent customer service to students, parents and visitors
- Opening and closing the Reception area
- Answering the telephone in a timely manner and transferring calls, taking messages or dealing with queries
- Greeting visitors and ensuring the correct sign in procedure is followed
- Receiving / logging parcels and deliveries and ensuring they are either sent to the recipient or the recipient is informed they have arrived
- Dealing with the outgoing post including franking, special deliveries and international tracked post as required
- Input missing/ absent/ late students / students leaving early onto the system and informing the relevant people
- The distribution of mini bus keys (if required)
- Assist with data checking to ensure the correct information is held by the school
- Manage lost property
- Assist with communications to parents

**Other**
- Cover Reception as required for additional days that fall on a weekend, eg. Open Days, Prize Day
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection, relating all concerns to the appropriate person.
- Be aware of and support difference and ensure equal opportunities for all
- Appreciate and support the role of other professionals
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings and training as required
- Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required
- Ad hoc administration

The position is part-time, all year round. Holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum plus 8 Bank Holidays.

This is a job share role. The Receptionists alternate one week of mornings and one week of afternoons. The hours are as follows:
**Morning shift**:
7.30am - 1.00pm Monday to Friday in term time

9.00am - 12.30pm every second Saturday during term time

8.00am - 11.45am Monday to Friday out of term time

4 weeks out of term time 8.00am - 3.30pm to cover other Receptionist holidays

**Afternoon shift**:
12.30pm - 6.00pm Monday to Friday in term time

9.00am - 12.30pm every second Saturday during term time

11.45am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday out of term time

4 weeks out of term time 8.00am - 3.30pm to cover other Receptionist holidays
