As a café shift leader you will play a pivotal role in providing a warm and welcoming experience for all of our customers. You will be proficient in food health and safety and have experience leading a team.

**Main duties and responsibilities**
- Leadership
- To manage the team of café assistants
- Ensure all café staff provide a high level of customer service
- Provide training for new café assistants and ongoing training throughout their employment
- Be responsible for café cleanliness, deep cleans and completion of daily records for health and safety
- Keep your team moving and working, checking for quality and thoroughness
- Prioritizing and delegating tasks
- Managing Cafe general assistants
- Customer Service
- Ensure we always understand our customers’ needs.
- Product Knowledge
- Providing detailed information about our products to customers.
- Replenishing Stock
- Maintaining high standards throughout your department.
- Merchandising
- Following guidelines to make sure products are displayed correctly.
- Targeted on having appropriate Till Point Conversations with every customer to add on sales and increase the average transaction value.
- Making sure your team and yourself work on tills accurately and efficiently, to provide a positive customer experience.
- Understanding and following Food safety & hygiene guidelines
- Ensure all safety processes are conducted properly
- To use all equipment in a safe manner as trained
- Opening and closing of the café and ensuring the café is secure at all times
- Attending team meetings as appropriate
- Ensure the day-to-day running is smooth and the café is set up to a high standard
- Maintaining cleaning throughout the day
- Cash handling, refunds and cashing up
- Stock Management; ordering and storage of food, stock take, maintaining adequate stock levels
- Be responsible for the running of birthday parties and events including catering and hosting

**Customer Service**
- Ensure a high standard of customer service
- To do everything within reason to minimise customer complaints and maximise customer enjoyment
- Ensure all café assistants maintain a high level of customer service

**Other**
- To assist with marketing as required
- To read and comply with the company staff handbook

- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a catering supervisory role
- Familiar with Health & Safety processes and legislation
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High energy levels, enthusiasm and a great work ethic
- Computer/till literate
- Experience of cash/payment handling
- Experience of people management
- Must be able to work in an active environment
- Good at working with customers of all ages
- Ability to deal with difficult customers

**Salary**: £11.00 per hour
