Our client, a local authority based in Truro, is seeking a Customer Service / Call Centre Operator to join their Customer Services team on a full-time, temporary basis.
The successful applicant will provide proactive & comprehensive guidance, information, and resolution to internal and external customers.
What We Offer:
- Pay: £9.90 per hour

The Role:
- Deal with receipts of payment (for cash, cheques, and card payments)
- Proactively resolving and dealing with customer complaints in accordance with the company’s Corporate Complaints process
- Logging and recording notes
- Resolve customer telephone, electronic, post, or in-person enquiries
- Assist customers with completing forms
- Receive requests, assess & establish the reason for requests, assess request urgency and take prompt, appropriate action according to procedures
The Hours:
- 5 days out of 7
- Between Monday - Saturday, 9am - 5pm
- 37 hours / week.
- Includes weekend & bank holiday working
Experience Required:
- Experience dealing with and diffusing conflict
- Ability to prioritise & work to deadlines
- Competent working knowledge of Windows based technology (e.g., Web & telephone)
- GCSE level English & Mathematics (Grade C or above) or equivalent
- Working towards (or willing to) NVQ 3 Customer Care and ECDL qualification or equivalent
