**HGV Technician**

**Location: Peterborough, PE1**

**Salary: circa £25,000 - £45,000, plus great benefits**

**Full-time/Night shifts**

A fantastic opportunity for an HGV Technician is now available to join our client who are a well-established Truck dealer and offer a competitive salary and great benefits. The HGV Technician will be part of a bustling team at the Peterborough branch. Thisparticular branch provides an exceptional service of Industrial, Power Generation Engine Service, Trailer Service and 24-hour assistance. The role would be responsible for maintaining commercial vehicles and trailers to MOT standard.

**The Job Role**:
The role as an HGV Technician will carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers to DVSA standard, diagnose and rectify all types of faults and attend disabled vehicles at the roadside or at a customer’s premises. The HGVTechnician will ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises, liaise with the parts department to attain relevant parts and ensure health and safety regulations and safe working practices areadhered to.

**Skills, experience, and qualifications**:

- Technical qualification (City and Guilds level 3 or NVQ qualified technician)
- HGV Licence and forklift licence (desired, not essential)
- Main dealer workshop experience (desired, not essential)
- Experience on Scania product (desired, not essential)
- Current drivers’ licence
- Computer literate
- Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks
- Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements
- Ability to work part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and seek solutions to problems
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work within guidelines given and to strict deadlines
