Jump into summer with a new career. We are looking for a Fostering Support Worker to join a team in Doncaster, part of the Midlands & North Service. As the Fostering Support Worker you will be working with an experienced team and in a culture where childrenare valued, respected, and listened to involved in as many decisions as possible. As a Fostering Support Worker your day will be varied. This exciting and important role requires a range of tasks working directly with children and young people, Foster Carers, and other professionals to ensure quality outcomes for children / young people. As the Fostering Support Worker you will be involved in participation events with children, where you will be coordinating group work and activities within a skilled focused way as part of an agreed programme, supporting the hybrid working team in preparingthe children and young people for their foster care placements and promoting the health and wellbeing of the children and young people. You will support families throughout the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire areas. The organisation is looking for someone who will always be thinking of the child, ensuring they are at the forefront of all decisions, being able to work as a team and able to communicate with children and adults. Experience of working in the fostering sectorand/or children / young people would be an advantage but not necessary. No formal social work qualifications are necessary, but an understanding of and empathy for the work required is necessary. You need to be able to drive for this role and have access to a car, be flexible as you may need to work occasional evenings and weekend and be committed to therapeutic training ? **ABOUT THE ORGANISATION** ??The organisation is a Social Enterprise who have been turning children’s lives around since 1989. They’re committed to ensuring that foster carers are recruited, supported, developed, and rewarded for the crucial role they take on. **THE TEAM AT DONCASTER** They are a proactive, friendly, and growing team of 7 looking for a new Fostering Support Worker to join them. They work from an easily accessible and well-maintained office in Doncaster. However, for this role the successful applicant will not be expectedto work from the office except for on average two days a month, as they will be supporting carers across the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire area. An ideal base would be within Lincolnshire to enable the post holder to easily travel to Skegness, Lincoln, and the surrounding areas, as well as supporting those carers within the wider areas of West, South and East Yorkshire when required. The servicecovers a wide geographical area however they have other existing FSWs in post who will be supporting the successful applicant. The last 2 years has seen significant growth in the team and there is a possibility the hours will be increased to full time hours. The service is rated GOOD by Ofsted, and it is a good place to work. The FSWs in post have expressed they "feel happy, valued,and supported within the team" and would like to extend this to other fostering support workers. They have seen a big growth in the team and are excited at the prospect of reaching out to more children in need of warm loving homes. To do this, they need toidentify more staff who are like minded and wish to enable children to have positive changes in their lives. They are keen to recruit people with the same ambition and passion. They team benefits from local knowledge and promotes a sense of 'family’ amongcarers.
