Primary Playcare Ltd is a private organisation providing Out of School Care to over 400 children across our Out of School Clubs in East Renfrewshire and Glasgow City Centre. We are currently recruiting for a Childcare Practitioner to join our club within Glasgow City Centre. We are looking for applicants who are fun, outgoing personality, reliable and have a natural ability to engage effectively with primary school aged children. The hours of work will be:
After School Club (2.30pm - 6.00pm) Monday to Friday

Term Time Only (17.5 hour per week)

**Duties include**:

- The safe collection of children at the end of the school day
- Engaging with the children during play and participating in activities
- Working with the children to plan fun, imaginative & interesting activities and to evaluate these activities afterwards
- Setting up the play area at the start of the session & clearing away at the end
- Preparing afternoon snack for the children
- Building positive relationships with the children and their parents/carers
- Ensuring the children's safety at all times and supporting the children to manage risk in their play choices
- Key Worker responsibility for up to 20 children and completion of children's individual care plans
- Ensuring that the children voices are heard by listening to their views and giving them opportunities to contribute to the operations of the club
- Following the professional standards, policies and procedures as outlined by the Company, The Care Inspectorate and SSSC to ensure that a quality service is provided.

**Experience/Qualifications Required**:

- Previous experience in a childcare setting (Early Years or Out of School Care) would be advantageous however we will also take on board your experience in the voluntary sector or personal background.
- Ideally you will hold an SVQ Level 3 in either Playwork/CCLD or HNC in Childcare, or willing to work towards a relevant qualification.

The successful applicant will be required to undergo PVG checks, be able to provide 2 references who will be able to vouch for your employment record and/or good character and be required to be registered with SSSC at Practitioner Level or register within 6 months of appointment to post.
