**Overview**
BES Steel Buildings is expanding. We’re looking for an experienced **Welder/Fabricator** with a strong background in **structural steelwork** and **portal frame buildings** to join our hardworking and high-performing team. This is not a sheet metal role — we’re looking for someone who’s comfortable working with heavy steel sections and understands the full fabrication process for structural frames.

**Responsibilities**
- Fabricate steel components from drawings, primarily for portal-framed buildings
- Work with UC/UB beams, PFC, SHS, RHS, and steel plate
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings accurately
- Operate cutting, drilling, and welding equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform MIG welding to a high standard
- Conduct quality checks and ensure dimensional accuracy
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop, following all safety protocols
- Collaborate with the wider team to meet project deadlines

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience working with **structural steel** and **portal frames**:

- Ability to read and understand detailed engineering drawings
- Competence in MIG welding (stick experience beneficial but not essential)
- Comfortable using plasma cutters, grinders, magnetic drills, and similar tools
- Strong mechanical awareness and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence required
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
