We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to work with our existing Manufacturing team within the Crewe Manufacturing facility.
You will provide technical support to production managers, and provide support for the introduction and hand over of new products into production. You will be responsible for implementing new products into the Manufacture facility at the right time with theright quality following a new product introduction gate process and maintaining the operational relationship between Engineering and Manufacturing departments.
**Main Responsibilities**
**TECHNICAL SUPPORT**:

- Provide technical support to production managers, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, manufacturing director and Engineering
- Provide support for the introduction and hand over of new products into production
- Develop & amend Technical Instructions & documentation
- Development of Process FMEA’s and Control Plans for Unipart Rail Products
- Ensure that any Engineering changes are made in line with the divisional engineering change procedures, authorities and Governance
- Initiate Product and Process Changes to ensure Safe, Repeatable, Reliable and Capable Processes exists across the Service Centres
- Support on site First Article Inspection activities
- Acts responsively to resolve effectively any work issues inhibiting cell performance
- Manages all communications with Service Centre employees, customers and suppliers in a professional manner
- Contributes to overall Cell team performance by providing support to colleagues, and by delivering outstanding personal contribution to Cell performance

**CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT**:

- Actively participates in all continuous improvement activity in order to improve cell performance
- Has a positive attitude to change and seeks opportunities to be involved in delivering performance improvement changes
- Eager to continually learn how to improve their personal skills and performance
- Use creativity to generate ideas around how to improve Cell performance

**CUSTOMER CONCERNS**:

- Involvement with Customer Concern resolution (8D Analysis, TIC Reports etc)

**Essential criteria**:

- Level 3 Academic qualification in Engineering i.e. BTEC / ONC Electronic / Electrical Engineering
- Strong experience working as a manufacturing engineer, improving quality processes
- Experience working with SAP
- Detailed Quality toolkit (FMEA. Control Plans),
- Understanding of KPI's & SLA's with the ability to work to targets and timescales
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Knowledge of Quality System Procedures
- Understanding of Manufacturing cell business process
- Experience with continuous improvement and problem solving techniques

**Desirable criteria**:

- Six Sigma practitioner and internal audit qualification
